It was fluid and rhythmic without knowing that I was actually creating something… it wasn’t until my teenage years that I began to understand how my writing talent was not my own, but a gift from my father and his family tree…

I was born into a family of writers and my father was a talented writer for sure, but he never pursued it. My father always told me he diverted into the field of law because he believed his talents would be best served there, and having both of his older brothers as judges, ultimately simplified his decision to attend law school. Although I definitely inherited some part of my writing talent from my father, and as we all know the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, my writing came to fruition once I realized my talent was a precious present from my uncle, Sadeq Chubak… I always called him my uncle but he was my father’s first cousin. To me he was my uncle… but to the world he is considered as the greatest naturalist writer in Persian Literature who also translated many of Shakespeare’s written works. My uncle’s writing style has been referenced as resembling the Nobel Prize-winning novelist, William Faulkner who is considered as one of the twentieth century’s greatest writers….

My passion for literature, specifically, Renaissance and Shakespearean Literature was unveiled at UCLA where I started my studies of English Literature and pursued it further with Master series coursework. Craving to unveil more about my passion for literature, I went back to my alma mater and on to graduate studies.

I realized that my passion for literature was imbedded in me and travelled back to my roots… back to my inherited traits or what I like to call gifts from my uncle Sadeq who played a prominent role in my life… Uncle Sadeq persuaded my father to let me go to UCLA to study English Literature because he believed in my talent as a writer, and I am forever grateful to both of them for their gift.

I have taught as an Adjunct Professor and continue to teach online courses. I have written and edited numerous articles for various reputable magazines and companies. Currently, I am working on my written works for publication, but my true passion lies with my students and my company. Much Ado About Writing is my heart and working with my students not only inspires me to do better… and be better, but it allows me to pursue my passionate purpose to be an extraordinary teacher.

Nazanine Choobak Writing always came easy to me, even as a young girl I knew how to express my feelings on paper.
