FAQs
Please find answers to several FAQs below. If you still have questions, feel free to reach out to us.
Can you work with my son or daughter on his or her high school English papers?
We are not a tutoring company. Our aim is developing the students’ writing through literature base individualized program. We believe and have witnessed without a doubt that by enhancing a students’ literature selection (literary pool) and interpretive strategies, the student will become an exceptional writer.
How does a student become a student of Much Ado About Writing? What’s the process?
There is a process every student must go through before becoming enrolled in our program. We start with a 1 to 2 hour consultation then it’s followed by the student assessment which runs from 2 to 3 hours. Then we have couple of weeks to conduct our written assessment and meet with the parents, etc. The assessment meeting is approximately 2 hours where we discuss all findings and set up an individualized program.
Can you help with preparation of college essays and applications? College entrance exams and subject testing?
We are a writing and literature base program so our students develop their writing through extensive literature from 10th grade and when they are in 11th, we start to guide them through the college process. We help the students with effective strategies for testing and highly recommend that all testing for college be completed by latest possible date, due to development. The students will be writing their own essays and applications. We are in no way writing their college essays for them. Their creativity must developed naturally without any outside influence, and by the time their writing has advanced, there is nothing but creative flair and fluidity. We are there to assist, guide and mentor them throughout the entire college prep process.
Do you work with the students individually or in a group?
It all depends on the assessment and testing results… The program is set for the student based on his or her individual strengths… Our teaching strategy is unique and proven without a reasonable doubt that the focus must be on individual strengths rather than the students’ more challenging areas.
What are the fees for individual and/or group sessions? and how much do you charge for your consult and assessment, etc?
We discuss the fees with the parents during the initial consult and assessment meeting but our fees are distributed into different package options to fit families needs and comfort. The consult fee is the only flat fee.
